Partnership with the Global Donor Platform for Rural Development
The GM has joined the Global Donor Platform for Rural Development (GDPRD) to work with like-minded partners on the contribution that rural development can make to poverty reduction and to increase sustainable livelihoods in developing countries.
The platform has bilateral and multilateral members, including the World Bank and FAO.
Given the emerging trend of “greening” poverty reduction strategies and other development programming processes, the Global Donor Platform seeks to support these efforts to re-focus attention on rural communities.
Advocacy, shared learning and effective aid harmonization are the three central areas of intervention.
The GM is an active Platform partner, participating in the setting of a more comprehensive development framework, including through sustainable natural resource management in rural development.
