The approach
The Horn of Africa Initiative seeks to build on the GM’s ongoing partnership with IGAD Secretariat and its achievements to date, strengthening collaborative arrangements, enhancing coordination and adopting a more comprehensive approach.
The renewed partnership will capture the full potential and capacities of the IGAD Secretariat, its programmes and initiatives and will capitalize on existing, new and emerging opportunities for UNCCD implementation in the sub-region.
The GM will play a key role in supporting the countries through the IGAD Secretariat by brokering strategic partnerships.
