In Tunisia, the Global Mechanism (GM) is working with the International Trade Centre (ITC) to identify market development opportunities for products derived from Indian fig Opuntia(Opuntia ficus-indica) and Aleppo pine(Pinus halepiensis). An opportunity study is being conducted using the Export-Led Poverty Reduction Programme (EPRP) approach to identify key areas for development to strengthen SLM practices along the value chains of the two products. Financing opportunities that draw on trade processes, market-based mechanisms and private investments are also being explored.
