8th Session of the Conference of the Parties to the UNCCD COP8)

The 8th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (COP 8) will be held in Madrid, Spain, from 3 to 14 September 2007, hosted by the Government of Spain.
The 6th session of the Committee for the Review of the Implementation of the Convention (CRIC 6) and the 8th session of the Committee on Science and Technology (CST 8) will also be held in conjunction with COP 8.
The Global Mechanism will be actively involved in COP, CRIC and the CST, contributing not only in the formal sessions, but also with a number of side events and an exhibit space. This space will also be meeting point where you can speak to staff responsible for the GM's various regional and strategic programmes and learn more about the GM and its work at country, subregional and international levels..
More information on how and when to meet with GM staff at the stand will be circulated before the conference through an enewsletter.
Documents for the various sessions, including those directly related to the GM will be published on the UNCCD Secretariat's website, as soon as they are finalized.
